The former executive chef at Café Lift is teaming up with two other hospitality veterans for a new venture on the Main Line.

Royal Café, the new venture from three hospitality veterans, opens today in Narberth at 724 Montgomery Avenue. Restaurateur Jason Gorden, hospitality consultant Michael Greene and former Café Lift executive chef Josiah Richmond collaborated to create the restaurant, which will focus on “elevated comfort food.”
The menu takes inspiration from all over the world — they’ve got everything from poutine to pizza, plus salads, hummus, fish and chips, and more. The centerpiece of the menu will be their Neapolitan-style pizzas, for which they imported an Acunto brick oven pizza from Naples.
“We wanted to include Neapolitan pizza because we noticed a need for it on the Main Line,” said Richmond. “We wanted to do it right.” The pizza oven will also be used to roast vegetables, bake pita, and finish certain dishes. Drinks include wine and beer, as well as signature cocktails including a filthy martini, a frose slush, and more. Find the full menu here.
Under outdoor dining and social distancing guidelines, the restaurant seats 75 outdoors and will be able to accommodate 80 in the dining room, which features an Italian brick pizza oven, retractable garage doors, and custom artwork from local muralist Zeve Cohen.
For now, they’re open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m.to 9 p.m. for happy hour and dinner. Weekend brunch will begin on Saturday, July 11th and lunch will be added later in the summer. Reservations are available through Resy or by calling 484-429-2626.
