SPEARFISH — K Nails & Beauty Bar, a full-service nail salon, opened Monday at 1420 North Ave., Suite 2, in Spearfish.
“We are 100 percent organic and herbal,” Brett Patterson, who owns the business with his wife, Loan Bui, said.
Patterson has been in the industry for 10 years and previously owned a nail salon in Wyoming before deciding to return to his hometown to open K Nails & Beauty Bar open in Spearfish, with work beginning on the space in late April to prepare for the opening.
“I like the people. … The city is very nice,” Bui said of their decision to open in Spearfish. “I love this place.”
The salon offers full set acrylic and gel manicures and eight types of pedicures, along with collagen socks, collagen/herbal gloves, herbal neck wraps, and more. Everything from the cuticle oil to the lotions is natural, and Bui said that the employees’ first thoughts are about the customers’ health and relaxation.
In addition to being a full-service nail salon, K Nails & Beauty Bar also has a wine license and currently provides free wine for customers coming in for services. In the future, Patterson said, the salon would offer mimosas, as well.
K Nails & Beauty Bar currently has five employees, with the owners continuing to hire more, to ensure that there is no wait time for customers.
“I feel very happy about it because I really like to do nails,” Bui said. “I love my job, and I love doing the service to make customers happy.”
“I want the customers to feel relaxed (and) have a good feeling when they leave every time, not to be rushed service,” Patterson said, describing that customers can expect a full massage with their pedicure. “I want to spend the time on the customer … I want to make sure the customer’s fully relaxed.”
K Nails & Beauty Bar is open seven days a week: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The owners are hosting a grand opening on Saturday, July 13, when there will be food, cake, wine, and more for customers to enjoy.
